The publishing world is a vast uncertain place for authors. We know, we've
been there. We're here now for you, the author, to help you through the trials of what to do after you've written
"the end" for your book.
We at Star Publish are authors, we've gone through the tasks of completing
a manuscript as well as submitting it to editors. We've seen it all, the nice and not so nice. We've learned all we could
to avoid the unpleasantries of the publishing world and how to get our books to the top. Now we're here for you, to help you
through the process and to provide the best for your book and for you.
Submission Guidelines

|
Please submit queries to T.C. at submissions(at)starpublishllc.com. In the subject line, put Query: Title of Book. In the body of the email, include a short synopsis of your
book, the genre, an author's bio, and a website link if you have one. Please state which Publication Package
you are interested in (see details here).
If we at Star are interested in considering your manuscript
more closely, you will be asked to send the first full chapter as an email attachment as a Word .doc file. After evaluation
of this chapter, Star will request the complete manuscript. Acceptance of your book will follow our evaluation of the
full manuscript.
Manuscript Guidelines:
-
Chapter and, when
requested, full Manuscript in MS Word
-
Use Times New Roman font in 12 pt.
regular font to set to ease our tired eyes, though this font won't remain through formatting unless requested.
-
Use standard Word first line paragraph
indent, not tabs.
-
Use single spacing, again to make reading
easier for us.
-
Begin each chapter on a new page. Use page
break to begin a new chapter.
-
Please do not use hard returns except at
the end of a paragraph, an individual line of a poem, or at the end of a chapter.
-
To indicate a section break or thought
break, use four (4) asterisks, centered (****), or use double spacing (4 line space).
-
Be consistent with formatting throughout
your manuscript and keep it simple. Artistic "flare" in formatting will be added after the editing process and by our formatters.
Trust us, it's better this way.
-
Please number your
pages.
General:
We, at Star Publish, do
our very best for our authors. We have experience in all areas and, although we welcome and take into consideration
all author's suggestions about their work, there may be times when something must be changed to keep up to the standards bookstores
and readers expect. No editing outside of correcting typographical errors will be done without your approval,
but we ask for our authors to seriously consider any suggestions our editor makes with an open mind and a willingness
to better their work. If you feel you may not be able to completely trust our advice and judgment, please know
there are many publishers out there, without such strict contingencies, who would be happy to publish your work.
We are always considerate
and respectful of our authors and are looking for authors who can return that respect in a friendly partnership.
The success of any book counts on that relationship and on how hard the author is willing to work at promoting and marketing.
We do all we can to get you started with the best book possible and guide you through some aspects of the promotion and marketing,
but the true success depends on you, the author. | |
